How we collect, use, and protect your information
Last updated: April 2026
Ascendance.gg ("we", "us", "our") operates the website ascendance.gg and provides remote PC optimization services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
When you log in through Discord OAuth, we receive and store your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and email address. This is used to identify you, create your service ticket, and communicate with you about your appointment. We request the following Discord OAuth scopes: identify (your profile), email (your email address), and guilds.join (to add you to our Discord server if needed).
Payments are processed entirely by PayPal. We never see or store your credit card number, bank account details, or PayPal password. We do receive and store your PayPal payer email address and PayPal transaction ID for record-keeping and dispute resolution purposes. These values are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC.
When you book a service, we store the service type, date, time, timezone, price paid, any referral code used, and appointment status. This is necessary to schedule and deliver your service.
If you choose to run our diagnostic script (ascendance-specs.ps1), we collect detailed hardware information from your PC. This includes your CPU model, core count, and clock speeds; motherboard model, BIOS version, and chipset; GPU model, driver version, and PCIe configuration; RAM capacity and per-slot details including manufacturer, part number, speed, timings, and XMP/EXPO profiles; storage drives and link speeds; connected monitors including model, resolution, and input type; and Windows version and build number. This data is uploaded using a single-use, time-limited token tied to your appointment and is posted to your private Discord ticket channel. Running the script is voluntary.
Communication during your service session takes place in a private Discord channel. When the ticket is closed, a transcript of the conversation is generated and stored for quality assurance, dispute resolution, and service records. Transcripts include message content, usernames, timestamps, and any files shared during the session.
Images, GIFs, and videos shared in your ticket channel are permanently archived before the ticket is closed. Images and GIFs are converted to WebP format for efficient storage. Videos are archived in their original format. These archived files are stored in a private Discord channel accessible only to our staff. This ensures that ticket transcripts remain complete and viewable after the original ticket channel is deleted.
We log IP addresses and browser user agent strings in our transaction log for security purposes (fraud prevention, rate limiting, and abuse detection). Session cookies are used to maintain your login state and expire after 24 hours.
If you apply to or participate in our partner program, we additionally collect and store your display name, referral code, social media links (Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Kick, and website), bio, and any internal notes added by our team. We also track referral activity including which bookings used your referral code, commission amounts, and payout history.
If you submit a custom PC build request through our website, we collect the information you provide in the form: your name, email address, and build details (required), as well as optionally your phone number, budget, usage preferences, brand preferences, timeline, and shipping address. This data is transmitted to Lanforge, our parent company that fulfills custom PC builds, as described in Section 3.
We use your information to deliver the services you've booked, process payments and track commissions for our partner program, create and manage support tickets, communicate with you about your appointments, prepare for your session using your hardware specifications, facilitate custom build requests through our parent company, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms of Service (including account bans), maintain service records and transaction audit logs, and improve our services. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the services you've purchased.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except as follows:
PayPal: Payment data is processed by PayPal under their own privacy policy. We send them only the information necessary to process your payment (amount, order reference).
Lanforge: If you submit a custom build request, the information you provide in the form is sent to Lanforge, our parent company that designs and builds custom PCs. This includes your name, email, contact details, build preferences, and shipping address. Lanforge processes this data to create and deliver your custom build. No data is shared with Lanforge unless you explicitly submit a build request.
Discord: Your service ticket exists as a private channel on our Discord server. Only you and our staff team can see it. Archived media is stored in a staff-only channel. Discord processes this data under their own privacy policy.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights in a legal dispute.
Appointment records, transcripts, and archived media are retained indefinitely for service history and dispute resolution. Hardware specifications submitted via the diagnostic script are retained as part of your ticket transcript. Partner referral and commission records are retained indefinitely for accounting purposes. Login sessions expire after 24 hours. Stale pending appointments are automatically cancelled after 30 minutes. Spec upload tokens expire after 2 hours and are single-use. Ban records are retained for the duration of the ban and may be retained afterward for security purposes. Custom build request data is transmitted to Lanforge at the time of submission and is not stored on our servers. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us on Discord.
We protect your data through HTTPS encryption on all connections, encrypted storage of Discord OAuth tokens and PayPal transaction details (AES-256-CBC), secure HttpOnly session cookies, prepared SQL statements to prevent injection attacks, CSRF protection on all form submissions, timing-safe token verification for hardware spec uploads, and IP-based rate limiting on sensitive endpoints. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We use a single essential cookie (asc_session) to maintain your login session. This cookie is HttpOnly (not accessible to JavaScript), Secure (only sent over HTTPS), and has a SameSite=Lax attribute. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (subject to our need to retain transaction records for legal purposes), and withdraw consent for Discord OAuth (by revoking access in your Discord settings). To exercise any of these rights, open a ticket in our Discord server.
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use our services or provide any personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please reach out to us on Discord.
